Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with US Vice President JD Vance and issued a clear warning: if Pakistan attacks India, the response will be even stronger. This statement comes alongside the launch of a new BrahMos missile facility in Lucknow, further strengthening India’s defence capabilities.

PM Modi’s Warning to Pakistan

During a phone call with US Vice President JD Vance, PM Modi said that India will hit back harder if Pakistan launches any attack. This conversation took place after the US reportedly received alarming intelligence suggesting the possibility of a major escalation between India and Pakistan.

Sources say the Prime Minister made it clear that any engagement with Pakistan would only be about discussing Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and terrorist handovers. India has stated that it will not start a conflict but will respond strongly if provoked.

US Role in the Situation

The US has been in constant touch with both India and Pakistan. JD Vance urged PM Modi to consider dialogue to reduce tensions. However, India clarified that the de-escalation talks happened only between the military officials (DGMOs) of both countries, and not at the higher level of Foreign Ministers or National Security Advisors.

India’s Conditions for Peace

India has made it clear that it will maintain peace if Pakistan does not fire first. However, if Pakistan crosses the line, India will not hold back. PM Modi’s message was firm—India will only talk about serious issues like the return of PoK and action against terrorists.

BrahMos Missile Facility Launched in Lucknow

In a powerful move to boost defence readiness, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh opened a new BrahMos missile production unit in Lucknow. This facility will build the BRAHMOS-NG (Next Generation) variant, one of the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in the world.

The new missile will be smaller, more versatile, and can be launched from land, sea, air, or even underwater. Built at a cost of ₹300 crore, the unit is part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor and aims to support Indian industries and startups in defence technology.

Strong Message from Indian Military

The Indian military has also sent a clear message. They are fully prepared to respond to any future actions from Pakistan. Commodore Raghu Nair confirmed that while India agrees to the ceasefire, the armed forces are on full alert and ready to defend the nation at all times.

Conclusion

The situation between India and Pakistan remains tense but controlled. PM Modi’s firm stance, the US’s involvement, and the launch of the BrahMos missile facility show that India is ready for peace—but also prepared for defence. The coming days will reveal whether both countries can uphold the current ceasefire or if they will need to take further action.
