India celebrated its 76th Constitution Day with a grand national event held in the Central Hall of the Old Parliament Building in New Delhi. The ceremony was led by President Droupadi Murmu, who released the Constitution of India in nine new Indian languages—Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia, and Assamese.
This step aims to make the Constitution more accessible to citizens across linguistic backgrounds.

Historic Reforms Highlighted by the President

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu called the abolition of triple talaq a historic milestone in the empowerment of women. She stated that Parliament’s decision to end a long-standing social injustice became a powerful step to protect the rights and dignity of women across the nation.

The President also emphasized the significance of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), calling it the biggest tax reform since Independence. According to her, GST has strengthened India’s economic unity by creating a uniform taxation system across states.

Article 370 and Political Unity

President Murmu highlighted the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir as a major decision that cleared a barrier to India’s political integration.
She added that this change will help ensure equal development prospects and strengthen national cohesion.

Women-Led Development Through Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam

Focusing on women’s representation, President Murmu noted that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which provides reservation for women in legislative bodies, will mark the beginning of a new era of women-led development and leadership in India.

Special Mention of Vande Mataram’s 150th Anniversary

The President also informed that the country is celebrating 150 years of “Vande Mataram” since 7 November 2025. Various cultural and national events are being organized across India to mark this historic occasion.
