Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has had a modest run at the box office. Released on October 2, the romantic comedy could not make a major impact, ending its first week on a low note. Even after six days, the film’s total collection stands at Rs 36.25 crore, failing to reach the Rs 40 crore mark.

According to early estimates, the day-wise collection of the film is as follows:
- Day 1: Rs 9.25 crore
- Day 2: Rs 5.5 crore
- Day 3: Rs 7.5 crore
- Day 4: Rs 7.75 crore
- Day 5: Rs 3.25 crore
- Day 6 (October 7): Rs 3 crore
Despite a steady start and decent word of mouth, the film struggled to grow in numbers, especially against Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which has emerged as a major box office hit, earning Rs 290 crore in six days.
Competition and Show Count
On release, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was allotted around 3,021 shows, which decreased to 2,802 by day six. In comparison, Kantara: Chapter 1 started with over 8,000 shows across Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam and continues to dominate theatres with 7,887 screenings nationwide. The difference in show count and audience interest played a significant role in the Hindi film’s slower growth.
About the Film
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, along with Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav Sharma. Khaitan co-wrote the screenplay with Ishita Moitra and had previously worked with Varun Dhawan on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
