heartrending turn of events, Punjabi singer Khan Saab is grieving not one but two major losses within a span of just over two weeks. His father, Iqbal Muhammad, passed away early Monday, following a heart attack at home — just 17 days after the singer had laid his mother, Salma Parveen, to rest.

Sudden Loss: Father Succumbs to Heart Attack

According to multiple reports, Iqbal Muhammad — aged 70 — suffered a cardiac arrest while bathing at his residence. He was immediately admitted to a hospital in Jalandhar, but doctors declared him dead shortly thereafter.

The timing of this tragedy compounds the sorrow. Only days ago, Khan Saab had returned from Canada after his mother’s demise to attend her final rites. Local sources state that the final rites for Iqbal Muhammad are slated for October 14 at 12 PM in his native village Bhandal Dona.

The Earlier Loss: Remembering Salma Parveen

The first blow struck when Khan Saab’s mother, Salma Parveen, passed away after a prolonged illness in a Chandigarh hospital.

At the time, the singer was slated to perform in Canada. He promptly cancelled his show and flew back to India upon receiving the news, reaching Kapurthala in time to attend her funeral.

The news of her passing had already elicited waves of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and the Punjabi music fraternity, many of whom recognized the nurturing role she played in Khan Saab’s life and career.

The Emotional Toll & Public Condolences

Losing both parents in such quick succession is a blow few can fully fathom. People on social media have flooded the platforms with messages of condolence, prayers, and support for Khan Saab.

Well-wishers are expressing solidarity, hoping he finds strength during this unimaginable ordeal.

Prominent voices in Punjab’s cultural and political circles have also offered their sympathies, acknowledging the gravity of his loss and praising the role his parents played in shaping his life.
