A Song That Shaped India’s Freedom

Composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875, “Vande Mataram” was first sung publicly by Rabindranath Tagore in 1896.
It became the heartbeat of India’s independence movement — a cry for freedom that echoed from Bengal to Punjab.n

In 1950, the first two stanzas of “Vande Mataram” were officially adopted as the National Song of India.

BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary described it beautifully:

‘Vande Mataram’ is not just a song — it is the voice of India’s soul, the symbol of our courage, sacrifice, and unity.

Reviving Patriotism for a New Era

Through these celebrations, the BJP aims to rekindle national pride and remind citizens of India’s shared cultural and emotional heritage.
By blending patriotism with the “Make in India” spirit, the party hopes to inspire a new generation to embrace self-reliance and respect the sacrifices that shaped the nation.

As the nation joins in the chorus of “Vande Mataram” on November 7, the day will stand as a reminder that India’s strength lies not only in its borders — but in the hearts of its people.
